Time to sing Rightstuf’s praises
President Maa is happy.

I AM EXTREMELY happy about this news. That is all.
Okay, not quite all.
With this being a straight-to-boxset, sub-only release, I may even break my embargo on buying US R1 DVDs. While I normally wait and try and support the UK R2 versions, after this show’s heroic and not before time leap across the Pacific Ocean, I think a further jump to these backwatery shores is probably too much to expect.
I hope this business model works out big time for Rightstuf! and I look forward to the day when they bring us Hidamari Sketch…!

Funnily enough I started watching this on fansub just a week or two ago, resigned to the fact that it would never hit DVD. Looks like I’ve found another reason to keep hold of my multiregion player then! Like you, I want to hold out for a R2 version (supporting the UK market and all) but realistically… I’ve been well and truly bitten by the iyashikei bug it seems.

I’m still holding out for those Haruhi R2s and that doesn’t seem to have worked…
By the way, another cool new license announced, and this is for the UK market, is the excellent movie Tokikake or The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Manga Entertainment are the nice people behind the news.
But who knows, after reading this page http://www.ukanime.com/template2.php?page=main.php&p=504 maybe a UK Aria release isn’t out of the question, yeah right!
